Infrastructures of Take; Economies of Self-Destruction

Infrastructural take is rapidly expanding across the nation between emerald ash borers, Ash trees, and global trade. Emerald Ash borers have arrived in the united states from Asia in the pallets which deliver our goods. They have spread rapidly decimating American forests because of the Ash Tree’s inability to defend itself from the insect. They have been aided by our interstate highway system as we continue to take, consume and demand immediacy from our consumer systems.

This tells a story where our systems reliance on globalization and extensive infrastructural networks have not only produced the systems which enable us to live the quality of life we live, but also enable non-human entities to take advantage of these networks and dismantle them.
